Confidence instead of Fear
One afternoon, when my oldest son was in High School,
he was involved in a prank with some of his friends. This had to do
with him climbing out of a moving truck and falling out of a moving truck
and falling to the pavement.
One of his shoulders looked dislocated and he had
gravel and dirt imbedded in the skin of one of his legs. I called a
Christian Science Practitioner to pray for him. I was also concerned
as to how to deal with cleaning and caring for his skin abrasions.
At one point, he appeared to be going into shock.
I spoke to the practitioner and the indications of shock soon disappeared.
The practitioner told me that I would know the "correct
use of temporary and eternal means." This is a quote from the
Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
by Mary Baker Eddy.
The next day I had the idea to buy and use a certain
skin cleaning product that does not require scrubbing or rinsing. My
son stood in the bath tub and used this product without discomfort.
In just a few days his shoulder was in perfect
adjustment and soon his leg had scabbed over. When the large scab on
his leg came away, all the grit and gravel came away with it and new pink
skin was underneath.
I am very grateful to God and to the Christian Science
practitioner that prayed iwth me and gave me confidence instead of fear for
my son.
