Last year I received a call from a Pentecostal lady friend whose son was in the hospital and needed triple heart by-pass surgery. She wanted me and her church friends to pray for him. I prayed the Scientific Statement of Being, which goes like this: “There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual.” (From Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, page 468). My friend said that the surgeon was Christian and I am sure he prayed also, and the surgery was a success. Her son is back working part-time. Also, I was healed of a cold in the process.

Note: Prayer works effectively. However, Christian Science treatment, which is a very specific focused type of prayer, was not employed in this case involving surgery.
