There are two (2) Christian Science Reading Rooms in Northwest Arkansas.    Each is a combination spiritual resource center,  library and bookstore.  You are welcome to stop in at either of these area Reading Rooms to learn more about practical, scientific prayer that will bring results.

While there are a variety of materials–including books, magazines, and audio CDs available for purchase in the Reading Room, there is never any pressure to buy anything.  You are always welcome to just come in and spend some quiet time in prayer or use the Bible study resources that are on hand.

Our best seller is Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.   This is the Christian Science textbook which gives an understanding of God and the power of prayer to heal.   It is available in seventeen languages:  Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish, Braille, and in several electronic formats.

The Reading Rooms in Fayetteville and Rogers invite you to drop in to ask questions, research the Bible and/or Christian Science, read or pray.  We’ve set aside space for patrons to quietly read the weekly Bible Lesson (full-text version) and bound volumes of Christian Science Sentinels and Journals.   Of course, you can find many other special items in our well-stocked Reading Room.   We also provide JSH on-line for our visitors to research healing articles through the years back to 1883.

Fayetteville:  1755 Rolling Hills Drive, open Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, before and after the 10:30 am Sunday service and before the 7:00 pm Wednesday Testimony meeting.  Phone:  479-442-8164

Rogers:  226 West Walnut (the corner of Third and Walnut), open Monday – Thursday, noon – 4:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 am – noon, and Saturday 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  Phone: 479-202-5022.

By the way, there is nothing mysterious or mystical about a Christian Science Reading Room.  Most are set up like a small bookstore, and many have an area reserved for quiet study–a good place to get away from the demands of a busy day and take a few minutes to read or pray.  And the Reading Room isn’t just for Christian Scientists–it is available to the entire community!

If you are in a different area, look in your phone book under “Christian Science” (or “Churches–Christian Science”) to see if there is a Reading Room in your city, or click here.
